How did Sai Baba's life and practices demonstrate a blending of Hindu and Muslim traditions?

๐Ÿ“– Chapter 7

Chapter 7 of the Shri Sai Satcharitra details how Sai Baba's very existence defied religious classification. He was said to look like a Yavana (Muslim) if called a Hindu, yet bore the noble marks of a Hindu if called a Yavana. He resided in a mosque, a Muslim practice, but kept a sacred fire (Dhuni) burning day and night, a Hindu tradition. The text highlights this paradox by noting that if he was a Muslim, his ears were pierced, and if he was a Hindu, his circumcision was evident. He celebrated the Hindu festival of Ram Navami with great joy but would also give permission for the Muslim Sandal procession on the same night, treating both with equal reverence.
