How did Sai Baba respond when the distraught parents pleaded with him to cure their son's bone-cyst?

When the parents of the suffering child reached Shirdi, they prostrated at Sai Baba's feet and, with choked voices and pitiful faces, pleaded for his help. As narrated in Chapter 34, they described their exhaustion at seeing their son's wretched state and begged for Baba's protective hand.
