How did Sai Baba respond when Jog informed him that Dev felt disappointed and deceived?

When Jog relayed Dev's feelings of disappointment, Sai Baba expressed surprise. Chapter 40 recounts Baba's response, where He stated that He already knew the contents of Dev's letter and his state of mind. Baba explained to Jog, "He says I deceived him... tell him, 'You did not recognize Me! Why then did you call Me?'" Baba clarified that while He did not physically leave His location in the worldly sense, He did attend the Udyapan by appearing in the guise of a Sanyasi with two others, just as promised.
