How did Sai Baba reconcile being seen as an Avatar while also calling himself a humble servant of God?

Chapter 23 of the Sai Satcharitra explains this apparent contradiction by presenting two perspectives. Devotees considered Baba an Incarnation (Avatar) because he displayed all the necessary signs and characteristics. However, Baba himself maintained a stance of profound humility, reportedly saying, "I am a humble servant in the court of Allah." The chapter highlights that he never proclaimed "Anal Haq" (I am God), but instead his constant chants were "I am a poor servant" and "Allah Malik" (God is the Master). He demonstrated perfect human conduct and saw the divine in all beings, thereby living out a life of service while simultaneously embodying the qualities that led others to see him as an Avatar.
