How did Sai Baba propose to cure Amir Shakkar's rheumatism?

📖 Chapter 22

When Amir Shakkar, who was suffering from rheumatism, came to Sai Baba for a remedy, Baba's treatment was not a physical medicine but a test of faith and obedience. As narrated in Chapter 22, Baba's answer was for Amir to stay steadily in the Chavadi. This was despite the Chavadi being a damp, windy, and dilapidated place—conditions that would seemingly worsen rheumatism. The text clarifies that Baba's firm words were the actual medicine, stating, "Baba's medicine was only His word." By accepting this instruction and residing in the harsh environment of the Chavadi for nine months, Amir's healing was tied to his internal faith and acceptance of Baba's command rather than any external remedy.
