📖 Chapter 44

According to the account in Chapter 44, Sai Baba consciously prepared for His departure by listening to the Ramayana from a Brahmin with focused contemplation for fourteen consecutive days and nights. This period concluded on the day of Vijayadashami, when He attained the state of bodilessness. The chapter details that immediately after His breath left His body, Laxman-mama performed worship, and Jog performed the Aarti with a lamp. This was followed by a twenty-six-hour period where the Hindu and Muslim communities began to deliberate on how to give His body its final resting state and plan for the Samadhi.
