How did Sai Baba perceive his own identity and relationship with God?

According to Chapter 23 of the Sai Satcharitra, Sai Baba maintained a stance of profound humility despite others viewing him as an Incarnation. He would often say, "I am a humble servant in the court of Allah" and referred to himself as a "poor servant." His constant chants included phrases like "Allah Malik" (God is the Master), reinforcing his position as a devotee rather than divinity itself. The text explicitly states that he never proclaimed "Anal Haq" (I am God), but instead saw the Almighty in all things and remained in harmony, never considering anyone inferior.
