How did Sai Baba, or figures representing him, accept monetary offerings (Dakshina) in the incidents described in this part of the text?

๐Ÿ“– Chapter 33

Chapter 33 illustrates different ways Dakshina was accepted. In Karnik's case, the offering was not even planned. The saint Narsing Maharaj, acting as a medium for Sai's will, forcefully demanded and took a single Rupee. In another instance, a single Rupee given by "the family" was accepted with "great satisfaction." Conversely, with Appasaheb, Baba appeared in the form of a fakir as a "pretext for Dakshina," seeking the ten Rupees Appasaheb had verbally promised. This shows that the acceptance of Dakshina could be forceful, gentle, or even a test of a devotee's commitment to their word.
