How did Sai Baba keep his promise to attend Dev's Udyapan ceremony?

Sai Baba kept his promise to attend Dev's Udyapan ceremony by appearing in a different form. Although Dev was expecting Baba to travel from Shirdi, Baba came in the guise of a Sanyasi. As detailed in Chapter 40, Baba later explained to Jog that he had indeed attended, stating, "I said I would come with two others, and I went with two others." He first appeared alone as a Sanyasi, which made Dev anxious that he was there for money. Baba then returned at noon with two companions for the meal, fulfilling his word exactly as he had promised. This demonstrates Baba's commitment to his devotees, as he declared, "for the sake of My word, I would die; but the words from My mouth shall never be otherwise."
