How did Sai Baba intervene to resolve the conflict between Anna and Mavshibai?

Sai Baba resolved the escalating quarrel with a masterful and humorous trick. As detailed in Chapter 24, seeing that both devotees were getting angry, Baba planned to cool them down. He lovingly addressed Anna, saying, "Oh Anna, why have you started this uproar? I don't understand what is improper in taking a kiss from the Mother." By referring to Mavshibai as "Mother," he reframed their relationship into one of a mother and son. This immediately pacified both of them, causing the humorous nature of the talk to vanish and a sprout of loving laughter to break out among everyone present.
