Sai Baba's handling of Dakshina was quite pointed. Kaka Mahajani's friend had resolved not to offer any. Chapter 35 recounts that when the two visited, Baba asked for Dakshina, but only from Kaka. Later, when they went to take leave, Baba again requested Dakshina, specifically asking Kaka for seventeen rupees. In both instances, he asked nothing of the friend.
