Sai Baba's method for handling skepticism is wonderfully illustrated in the story of Boss Dharamsee. As Chapter 35 recounts, Dharamsee arrived in Shirdi with a critical mindset, driven by curiosity about the reported miracles. When Baba offered him grapes with seeds, a variety he disliked, Dharamsee's skepticism intensified, and he thought to himself, 'If he is a saint, how does he not know That I do not like these grapes?' Instead of rebuking him, Baba, knowing his inner thoughts, gave him even more. When Dharamsee finally ate them at Baba's command, he discovered they were miraculously seedless. This personal, direct experience shattered his critical stance, causing his ego to drop away and transforming his skepticism into genuine love and devotion for Sai.
