Sai Baba fulfilled his promise in a subtle way that tested Dev's perception. According to Chapter 40, Baba appeared at Dev's home in the guise of a Sanyasi. He first came alone before the meal, and then, as he stated he would, he returned at noon with two other people to eat. Baba later explained this to Jog, stating, "I said I would come with two others, and I went with two others."
