How did Sai Baba explain the connection between eating and being able to worship God?

Sai Baba taught that there was a direct and vital connection between physical nourishment and spiritual capacity. In Chapter 32, his philosophy is explained through a series of powerful questions: "Without the moistness of food in the belly, how can the eyes see God? How can the tongue describe His glory? How can the ears hear it?" The text concludes that all senses require strength from food to function, and only then can true devotion happen. Baba dismissed the idea of finding God on a hungry stomach as an impossibility, even in imagination. He believed that if the body becomes weak from lack of food, it loses all capacity for spirituality, making proper nourishment a prerequisite for worship.
