How did Sai Baba explain his presence at the Udyapan ceremony after Dev accused him of not showing up?

When Jog presented Dev's complaint, Sai Baba explained that he had indeed attended the ceremony in a different guise. According to the account in Chapter 40, Baba clarified that he first appeared alone as a Sanyasi, and then, as promised, returned for the meal with two other companions. He told Jog to ask Dev, "You did not recognize Me! Why then did you call Me?" Baba emphasized the sanctity of his promise, stating, "Look, for the sake of My word, I would die; but the words from My mouth shall never be otherwise."
