How did Sai Baba explain his presence at Dev's Udyapan, even though he physically remained in Shirdi?

📖 Chapter 40

Sai Baba clarified his attendance at Dev's Udyapan through his conversation with Jog. According to Chapter 40, Baba revealed that he had indeed been present, just not in the way Dev expected. He explained that he first came alone in the guise of a Sanyasi, an appearance that made Dev momentarily fearful. Later, to fulfill his specific promise, he returned with two other individuals and partook in the meal. Baba told Jog to tell Dev, "You did not recognize Me! Why then did you call Me?" This showed that the promise was kept, but Dev's lack of perception prevented him from realizing it.
