How did Sai Baba explain his attendance at Dev's Udyapan when confronted with Dev's complaint?

📖 Chapter 40

When Jog presented Dev's letter of complaint, Sai Baba explained that he had indeed kept his word. As recounted in Chapter 40, Baba stated that he was already aware of the letter's contents and that Dev simply failed to recognize him. Baba detailed his visit, saying, "I came and ate at the Udyapan. I said I would come with two others, and I went with two others." He reminded Jog of the Sanyasi's guise, who first came alone and then returned for the meal with two companions. Baba strongly affirmed his commitment to his promises, declaring, "for the sake of My word, I would die; but the words from My mouth shall never be otherwise."
