How did Sai Baba explain his attendance at Dev's Udyapan ceremony after being accused of not showing up?

📖 Chapter 40

When Jog presented Dev's complaint, Sai Baba was surprised Dev had not recognized him. As explained in chapter 40, Baba clarified that he had indeed attended the Udyapan, just as he had promised. He stated that he first appeared alone in the guise of a Sanyasi to test Dev, and later returned with two other people to have the meal. Baba emphasized his commitment to his word, declaring, "for the sake of My word, I would die; but the words from My mouth shall never be otherwise." He confirmed that he had fulfilled his promise to come with two others, even though he did not physically leave his location in the worldly sense.
