Sai Baba maintained a powerful determination to keep his sacred fire, the Dhuni, burning continuously in the Masjid, twenty-four hours a day, through all seasons. As Chapter 23 explains, this fire was as constant as that of an Agnihotri, or fire-priest. To fuel this ever-burning Dhuni, Baba would buy bundles of firewood and pile them in the courtyard. He would even collect wood himself during market times. His commitment was purely for the sake of maintaining this sacred fire, which was a central part of his presence in Dwarkamai.
How did Sai Baba ensure his sacred fire, the Dhuni, was always burning in the Masjid?
