How did Sai Baba describe the feeling of intense hunger and why did he think it was so important to eat first?

📖 Chapter 32

Sai Baba described intense hunger as a very difficult time when the "lower earth seems to rise up." Chapter 32 explains his teaching that it is during this state of extreme hunger that the realization of "food as Brahman" arises in the mind, highlighting its supreme importance. He believed that without a morsel of food, the sense organs become wretched and a person forgets all their skills. He emphasized that one must "first satisfy the soul of the self" by eating because it is impossible to find peace or realize God on an empty stomach. For Baba, eating was the foundational step before any spiritual contemplation or activity could be effectively undertaken.
