Sai Baba gave his full permission and help for a collection of his stories and experiences to be compiled. As recorded in Chapter 2, He told the author to keep a record, stating, "I myself shall write my own story!" Baba explained that the author was merely a pretext and that He would be the one writing through him. The primary instruction was for the author to dissolve his ego and surrender it at Baba's feet. Once the ego is dissolved, Baba promised to enter with 'I-ness' and write with his own hand, providing full assistance to the devotee in all ways.
