How did Sai Baba actually give Udi to his devotees, and what was the immediate significance of this act?

As described in Chapter 33, Sai Baba's method of distributing Udi was a daily and consistent practice. From the Dhuni that burned constantly day and night in the Masjid, he would take handfuls of the ash. He gave this Udi, which is also called Vibhuti or ash, to everyone who came for his Darshan, regardless of their status. He would give it as a blessed offering, or Prasad, sometimes applying it directly to a devotee's forehead with his thumb. The text also mentions him placing his entire hand on their heads as a gesture of wishing for the welfare of his devotees, making the act a direct and personal blessing.
