How did Ratanji decide to visit Shirdi, and what advice was he given?

Ratanji, who was constantly sad and uneasy because he did not have a son, confided in Das Ganu, a person in whom he had great faith. As recounted in Chapter 14, Ratanji revealed the secret sorrow of his heart to Ganu. In response, Das Ganu gave him clear advice: "Go to Shirdi; you will obtain your heart's desire." Ganu instructed Ratanji to seek Sai Baba's darshan, bow at His feet, and explain his problem from beginning to end. Ganu expressed absolute confidence in Baba's power, calling His work "inconceivable" and assuring Ratanji that surrendering to Baba would lead to fulfillment. This advice appealed to Ratanji, who then resolved to make the journey to Shirdi.
