How did Maharaj impart wisdom to his followers? Did he teach complex philosophy?

Maharaj's method of teaching was subtle and practical rather than purely academic. He did not typically give discourses on profound Vedanta subjects or the Upanishads. Instead, his advice was primarily ethical. As explained in Chapter 0, his approach followed the Sadguru's scriptural practice of first purifying the disciple's mind before sowing the seed of knowledge. He would give advice through stories during his sittings, which were tailored to the thoughts of the people present. The most valuable guidance, however, was the advice received from him in the form of direct experience, which brought the highest benefit to faithful devotees.
