How did Maharaj end up in Shirdi, and who was he with when he arrived?

Maharaj's journey to Shirdi began with a chance encounter in a forest. Chapter 0 recounts how he met a man named Chandbhai Patil, whose horse was lost. Maharaj miraculously told him the horse was nearby, and it was. He also produced fire from the ground with his tongs to light a chillum. Deeply impressed, Chandbhai insisted Maharaj visit his home. After staying for a few days, Maharaj accompanied Chandbhai's family to Shirdi as part of a wedding procession for Chandbhai's wife's nephew. It was with this procession that he first arrived in the village.
