According to the introductory chapter, Maharaj provided significant aid to the sick by giving them medicines. He never accepted money for his services and would even personally care for patients if they were not being looked after properly. The text notes that there were still many people in the area at the time of writing whom Maharaj had personally treated and cared for. Chapter 0 also explains that later on, Maharaj stopped giving medicine and instead began to give only Udi, or sacred ash, which people continued to benefit from.
