How did Kashiram's spiritual practice of feeding ants lead to a violent confrontation?

๐Ÿ“– Chapter 0

Kashiram's spiritual practice of feeding ants, a compassionate act advised by a saint named Janakidas Baba, inadvertently led to a violent encounter. According to Chapter 0, he always carried a small bundle of powdered sugar for this purpose. When robbers accosted him, they mistakenly believed this bundle contained treasure. Because the bundle was very dear to him due to its connection to his spiritual vow, Kashiram resolved not to let it go. This refusal to surrender the bundle triggered the confrontation, during which he picked up a dropped sword, killed two thieves, and was then severely wounded by a third, showing how a pious act became the focal point of a life-threatening struggle.
