How did Balasaheb Deo's approach to spiritual discipline change when faced with persistent failure?

📖 Chapter 41

Faced with persistent failure in his attempts to read the Dnyaneshwari, Balasaheb Deo's approach shifted from one of personal effort to one of complete surrender to his Guru. Initially, he tried to establish a daily rule, similar to his reading of the Bhagavad Gita, and even took a three-month leave to focus on it. However, as Chapter 41 explains, when even the minimal resolution of reading five verses daily did not succeed, he changed his strategy. Instead of trying harder, he resolved to stop trying altogether and wait for a divine command. He made a rule that he would only read the Dnyaneshwari when 'Sai Himself gives the order,' demonstrating a profound shift from self-reliance to absolute faith in the Guru's grace.
