Sai Baba's ability to perceive unspoken thoughts was a recurring theme in his interactions with Laxmichand. While it was first powerfully demonstrated when Baba knew of the devotee's hunger for khaja, Chapter 28 provides another example. On a later occasion, during the Chavadi procession, Baba developed a cough. Laxmichand, concerned, thought privately to himself that the cough might be the result of someone's evil eye. The very next morning when he visited the masjid, Baba spoke words that mirrored Laxmichand's private, mental thought from the previous night. This confirmed, once again, that Baba possessed profound inner knowledge and that nothing in a devotee's heart or mind was hidden from him.
How did Baba's foreknowledge of Laxmichand's silent thoughts extend beyond the incident with food?
