How did Baba explain his attendance at the Udyapan to Dev after the event?

After Dev wrote a disappointed letter to Jog, Jog communicated the message to Sai Baba. Chapter 40 recounts Baba's detailed response. He explained that he was fully aware of the contents of Dev's letter and that Dev failed to recognize him. Baba reminded Jog, "I said I would come with two others, and I went with two others." He explicitly mentioned his appearance in a Sanyasi's guise, first coming alone and then returning with two companions for the meal, just as he had promised. Baba emphasized his commitment to his word, saying, "for the sake of My word, I would die; but the words from My mouth shall never be otherwise." Jog then relayed this entire account in a letter back to Dev.
