How did Annasaheb Dabholkar's views on having a Guru change over time?

Annasaheb Dabholkar's perspective on Guru devotion underwent a complete transformation. As mentioned in Chapter 0, he initially had no Guru devotion at all and used to argue that making a Guru was a fraud. He took great pride in his own doership and self-reliance. However, this viewpoint was completely shattered the moment his eyes met Sai Baba's. An internal spiritual witness was voiced, his pride was broken, and he became fully convinced that there is no way to cross the ocean of life without a Sadguru. The subsequent writing of the Shri Sai Satcharita is itself considered the fruit of the grace he received from Baba after this profound change of heart.
