Although Amir Shakkar was forbidden from even going to the Masjid, his confinement in the Chavadi paradoxically granted him frequent opportunities to see Sai Baba. Chapter 22 explains that Baba's daily path for alms in the morning took Him right by the Chavadi, allowing Amir a vision without leaving his spot. Similarly, every evening, Baba would come in front of the Chavadi. Furthermore, on every alternate night when Baba stayed in the Chavadi, they were separated by only a nominal curtain and a plank door, and they would talk peacefully after the other devotees left. This provided him with intimate and regular contact with Baba.
How did Amir Shakkar get to see Sai Baba so often if he was confined to the Chavadi for nine months?
