Although Amir Shakkar was forbidden from even visiting the Masjid for darshan, his prescribed stay in the Chavadi ironically provided him with effortless and frequent sightings of Sai Baba. Chapter 22 explains that the Chavadi was situated along Baba's daily route. Every morning, Baba would pass by the Chavadi on His way for alms, allowing Amir to have His vision as He went and came. Similarly, every evening, Baba would come in front of the Chavadi. Furthermore, on every alternate night when Baba slept in the Chavadi, there was only a nominal curtain and a plank door separating them, and they would often talk after the other devotees had left, providing a unique and intimate companionship.
How did Amir Shakkar get to see Baba while he was confined to the Chavadi for nine months?
