According to the preface in Chapter 0, a Sadguru accepts two primary forms of service from devotees through books. The second, and more common, method is by having his biographies written by devotees. When a writer undertakes the study and performs Parayans of a detailed poetic Guru biography, they are actively performing Guru service. This service extends to the wider community, as when other devotees also study and perform Parayans of the work, the writer gains the merit of serving God in humanity (Jan-Janardan) and public service. Simultaneously, those other devotees are also guided toward achieving the purpose of their lives through this shared practice.
How can devotees serve their Sadguru through literary works, and what are the benefits of this service for both the writer and the community?
