From the perspective of someone suffering from worldly torments, what path forward does Chapter 17 suggest?

📖 Chapter 17

For an individual exhausted by the 'three unendurable torments' of worldly existence, Chapter 17 offers a clear path forward. It suggests that this very suffering can be a catalyst for positive change. When a person, worn down by sorrow, begins to search for a way to stop the relentless wheel of 'Samsara', true 'Purushartha' (human effort) is born. At this point, as described in Chapter 17, the person gains the great fortune of being able to choose successful means for their own true self-interest. The text encourages such a person to strengthen their intellect and struggle for Shreya, the path of wisdom, and discard Preya, the path of fleeting pleasure. It is a call to action, urging the sufferer to transform their pain into a determined pursuit of salvation and true knowledge.
