From a scholarly perspective, the absence of certain contemporary saints in the Satcharitra is a notable omission. How should one reconcile this when reading the text?

📖 Chapter 50

The Sri Sai Satcharitra itself provides a unique framework for reading that transcends a conventional scholarly or historical analysis. Chapter 50 advises that when taking the book in hand, the reader should strive to see 'the subject of reading, the act of reading, and the reader—... as one state.' It encourages a devotional, rather than critical, posture, urging one to 'Hold humility in hearing' and 'perceive Sai in their hearts.' According to this guidance, the fruitfulness of reading comes from maintaining this non-duality, which allows the 'tendencies of the senses' to 'become Sai-form.' Therefore, reconciling omissions involves shifting the mode of engagement from seeking factual completeness to seeking spiritual oneness and the realization of the supreme goal as described in Chapter 50.
