From a devotee's perspective, what was the experience of being asked for Dakshina by Sai Baba?

📖 Chapter 14

The experience for a devotee was a profound mix of reverence, testing, and reassurance. As seen with Ratanji in Chapter 14, a devotee would first approach Baba with immense love and make their offerings. Baba would then ask for Dakshina. This request could be demanding, as He might ask for large sums and even suggest taking a loan. However, this was coupled with divine assurance. Baba would tell His devotees, "Do not worry even a little bit; I will give you bags of rupees; sit peacefully near Me." This shows the devotee's experience was a test of faith and detachment, immediately followed by the comfort of Baba's divine promise and protection.
