He acknowledged that the strange punishments he endured in his dreams were ultimately beneficial and, feeling unable to repay the favor, he decided that total surrender was his only recourse. The text explains that Sainath needs nothing more than faith, total surrender, and gratitude, which the Patil offered completely. He stayed in Shirdi for a month, singing praises to Baba.
