Explain the paradox of Amir's stay in the Chavadi. How was it both a prison and a place of great fortune?

📖 Chapter 22

Amir Shakkar's nine-month stay in the Chavadi presented a profound paradox. On one hand, as Chapter 22 describes, it felt like a prison. He was confined to a single, dilapidated, and uncomfortable place, forbidden even from visiting the Masjid. The physical suffering from his rheumatism was exacerbated by the damp, cold, and unhygienic conditions. Amir himself grew tired of this dependency and confinement. On the other hand, this 'imprisonment' was a source of immense spiritual fortune. It afforded him constant, close proximity to Sai Baba, including easy daily darshan and private conversations, a benefit described as rare and not achievable without great fortune. This duality highlights a key spiritual theme: enduring external hardship for the sake of internal companionship with the Guru.
