Explain Sai Baba's strong warnings against argumentation. What did he say is the consequence of having a mind for debate?

📖 Chapter 2

Chapter 2 provides a clear account of Sai Baba's views on argumentation. He stated that a mind inclined toward argumentation is filled with an abundance of ignorance and Maya. He taught that such a mindset lacks purity of self-interest and is instead dominated by bad thoughts and false logic. Consequently, a person who engages in constant debate is not fit for self-knowledge and is instead devoured by their own ignorance. Sai Baba warned that such individuals find no happiness in this world or the next, only perpetual unhappiness. He explicitly advised, "Do not establish your own side, do not refute the other side," calling such dualistic explanations a "useless effort."
