Even though Amir was forbidden from going to the Masjid, how did he still get to see Sai Baba so frequently?

📖 Chapter 22

Although Amir Shakkar's stay in the Chavadi was like an imprisonment and he was forbidden from visiting the Masjid, the location of the Chavadi itself ensured he had regular, effortless visions of Sai Baba. Chapter 22 explains this fortunate arrangement. Baba's daily morning routine of going for alms took him past the Chavadi, allowing Amir to see him both going and coming. In the evenings, Baba would come in front of the Chavadi and salute all directions before returning to the Masjid. Furthermore, on every alternate day when Baba stayed in the Chavadi, they were separated by just a plank door and would talk with each other after the other devotees had left for their homes.
