Despite being forbidden from even going to the Masjid for a vision, Amir's assigned place in the Chavadi ironically afforded him frequent and easy access to Baba's darshan. According to Chapter 22, this happened in several ways. Baba's daily path for morning alms took him right past the Chavadi, allowing Amir to see him coming and going. Every evening, Baba would also come to the front of the Chavadi to salute the directions. Most importantly, on every alternate night, Baba stayed in the Chavadi, separated from Amir by only a plank door. After the devotees left, they would talk with each other, granting Amir a level of intimacy that was a rare benefit.
Even though Amir Shakkar was confined to the Chavadi, how did he still manage to have Sai Baba's darshan so frequently?
