On his second visit, the Sanyasi's request was quite different from his first. As described in Chapter 40, he arrived at Dev's house around mealtime and, sensing Dev's unease, quickly clarified his purpose. He stated, "I haven't come for money; today we want a meal," and mentioned he had two companions with him. Dev's response was immediately hospitable and welcoming. He replied, "Come, it is a pleasure. Consider this your own home," and expressed that it was a "very good thing" the Sanyasi had company. Dev then cordially invited the Sanyasi and his two companions to return for a meal at his home around twelve o'clock.
