Did Sai Baba really die? I'm confused about what the text says about him leaving his body.

๐Ÿ“– Chapter 43

According to the spiritual philosophy presented in Chapter 43, Sai Baba did not 'die' in the conventional sense. His departure is described as a conscious, yogic act rather than a submission to mortality. The text explains that he 'burned the body in the fire of Yoga' and 'merged himself into the unmanifest.' This means his physical form ceased, but his essential nature, which is consciousness, did not. Chapter 43 likens the death of saints to an eclipse, which is merely a 'defect of vision' for the observer. Baba's true self is said to be imprinted in the hearts of devotees, and therefore, the text questions whether his body can truly be said to have perished.
