The texts indicate that a very large proportion of devotees who came to see Maharaj had worldly desires, referred to as 'Sakam.' He did not turn them away. Instead, as described in Chapter 0, his method was to first satisfy their material desires and then seamlessly guide their minds toward the path of ultimate welfare and salvation. His incarnation was seen as being for the salvation of all people. This inclusive compassion is also exemplified by his consistent and caring daily interactions with Bhagoji Shinde, a man afflicted with leprosy, showing his acceptance of everyone regardless of their condition.
Did Sai Baba only interact with spiritually advanced people, or could someone with worldly problems and desires also approach him? How did he handle people who were not seeking purely spiritual goals?
