Did Sai Baba believe that listening to his personal stories was more important than reading the scriptures?

Chapter 18 recounts an incident where the narrator, desiring to hear Baba’s stories, put aside his reading of the Bhagavat and ran to the Masjid. However, Baba was not pleased. He insisted that the narrator return and read the remaining part of the Bhagavat.
