Despite the harsh physical conditions of the Chavadi, what spiritual benefits did Amir Shakkar receive during his nine-month stay?

📖 Chapter 22

As explained in Chapter 22, while the external conditions of the Chavadi were terrible, Amir Shakkar's stay was spiritually rewarding. His confinement granted him effortless and frequent vision of Sai Baba. He saw Baba daily during His morning alms rounds and again each evening. Crucially, every other night Baba would stay in the Chavadi, separated from Amir by only a plank door. After other devotees left, they would talk with calm minds. This experience is described as a firm 'internal companionship with Sai,' a rare spiritual benefit that one cannot obtain without great fortune, even though it felt like external imprisonment.
