Despite living in a mosque, what specific Hindu-like rituals and practices were observed there, and how did high-caste Hindus react?

📖 Chapter 7

Chapter 7 provides a detailed list of Hindu-style practices that occurred in the mosque where Sai Baba lived. A sacred fire, or Dhuni, burned there day and night. The sounds of bells ringing and conches blowing, common in Hindu temples, were heard in the mosque. Additionally, there was the offering to fire, constant Bhajan singing, distribution of food, and the ritual washing of feet and worship. According to Chapter 7, these occurrences were so powerful that even the 'best of Brahmins' and 'keepers of the sacred fire (Agnihotris)' would abandon their pride in ritual purity and prostrate before him, becoming silent and humble.
