While living in Santa Cruz with nothing particular on his mind, Laxmichand had an unexpected and wonderful dream. In this vision, he saw a great soul, an old man with a beard, who was a sadhu surrounded by a crowd of devotees, and he bowed to this figure with love. According to Chapter 28, this vision was confirmed when he later attended a kirtan by Dasganu. It was Dasganu's practice to display a picture of Sai Baba, and upon seeing it, Laxmichand recognized the exact same form. His emotional response was profound; he became completely absorbed, his eyes filled with tears of love, and his soul felt a deep stirring, creating an intense longing to meet this loving form in person.
