Devotees in Shirdi performed a wide array of services with great love and enthusiasm. The introduction in Chapter 0 details how Radhakrishna-Aai would get service done for Maharaj by most of his devotees. People of all ranks, including high-born women, participated and felt joy at the opportunity. The tasks were often manual and humble, such as carrying mud and stones, sweeping roads, digging pits, planting trees, splitting wood, cleaning lamps and chandeliers, washing the Masjid, and even stitching banners. This collective effort demonstrates the deep devotion and willingness to serve that characterized the community around Maharaj.
